It’s been 46 years since Gary P Nunn left Austin, hat in hand, and went across the pond with Michael Martin Murphy where on a cold and dreary drizzly day in March of 73’, Nunn wrote the Official Unofficial anthem for the state of Texas, London Homesick Blues. This August 2020, it’s a bonafide once in a lifetime opportunity to accompany Gary back to the place it all began on this, his first return to London, and the Marble Arch flat where he wrote this much-loved anthem. London Homesick Blues, first recorded with Jerry Jeff
Walker in front of an audience in Luckenbach, went on to become the theme to Austin City Limits, setting it up to be one of the most well-known songs about Texas.
The London adventure and history in the making takes place August 19th – 24th 2020, and, well when you’re in luck, includes airfare, five-star, luxury accommodations, private events and a VIP concert and a chance to accompany Gary back in time, winding your way to Marble Arch station, cowboy hats held high, boots stompin’ down Hyde Park Place, taking part in a group photo, and bringing the romance of Texas and the magic of Texas music to the heart of London.
And don’t worry, we’ll be sure to leave the heat on!
