Best Babymoon Resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya (From a Cancun Local)
By Karina Duran, Travel Advisor and Mexico Specialist at 2 Getaway Travel
The best babymoon resort in the Cancun area is El Dorado Maroma: small, adults-only, with gourmet food and one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. It tops my list of four resorts I would send my own friends to for a babymoon.

I grew up in Cancun and spent more than 10 years working on the resort side of the Riviera Maya before joining 2 Getaway Travel. I have watched a lot of couples arrive for their babymoon, and the happiest ones all had the same thing in common. They did not try to do everything. They picked one beautiful place, booked the prenatal massage, and let someone else handle the details.
I have also been the guest. I took my own babymoons at some of the resorts on this list and have been back to many of them with my young family of four, so these picks come from both sides of the front desk.
This guide covers my four favorite babymoon resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya and how to choose between them. For timing, activity ideas and what to skip while pregnant, see our full guide to babymoon ideas.
My top babymoon pick: El Dorado Maroma, a small, adults-only gourmet inclusive resort on Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya.

The 4 Best Babymoon Resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya
I could give you a list of 20 places. Instead, here are the four resorts I would actually send my own friends to for a babymoon. Each one had to pass four tests:
Walkable: short distances between your room, the pool, the beach and dinner
Great food: real restaurants and room service for late-night cravings, not just a buffet
Quiet: adults-only, with a calm, romantic atmosphere
Strong spa: a full-service spa where you can book a prenatal massage
Resort | Area | Walkability | Food | Spa | Best for |
El Dorado Maroma | Riviera Maya | Small, 128 suites | Gourmet inclusive, 24-hour room service | Náay Spa | Best overall babymoon |
Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun | Cancun Hotel Zone | Compact, elevators to everything | 5 restaurants, 24-hour room service | AURA Spa, butler service | Spa lovers |
Secrets Maroma Beach | Riviera Maya | Larger grounds, 12 pools | Wide restaurant variety | Full spa | Best beach, more to do |
Secrets Playa Mujeres | North of Cancun | Spacious, ask for a central room | Several restaurants | Full spa | Quiet and close to the airport |

1. El Dorado Maroma: Best Overall Babymoon Resort
If you only read one section of this guide, make it this one. El Dorado Maroma is my top babymoon pick in all of Mexico. It is a boutique, adults-only resort with just 128 suites on Maroma Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Riviera Maya.
Why it is perfect for a babymoon:
Small and easy to get around. You are never far from the beach, the pools or your next meal, which matters more every week of pregnancy.
Gourmet inclusive dining. Everything is made to order, and 24-hour room service means midnight cravings are covered.
Beach butler service. Someone else sets up your shade and brings your mocktails. You just relax.
Náay Spa. A full-service spa for couples treatments and a prenatal massage.
The Palafitos overwater bungalows. Glass floors, direct ocean access and total privacy. It is the closest thing to Bora Bora you can reach on a short flight from Texas.
Karina's tip: If stairs or ladders feel like a lot right now, tell us and we will book a swim-up or beachfront suite that gives you the same romance with fewer steps. Watch our El Dorado Maroma video tour to compare room types.

2. Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun: Best for Spa Lovers
Le Blanc is all about pampering. Every guest gets butler service, so your butler can unpack for you, draw you a bath (warm, not hot) and book your spa and dinner reservations. The AURA Spa is one of the best in Cancun.
With about 259 rooms in a compact building, you take an elevator instead of a long walk. It is roughly 30 minutes from the Cancun airport, the shortest transfer on this list.
Karina’s tip: Ask us to book your prenatal massage at the AURA Spa before you arrive, since the best times go fast. Once you check in, your butler can handle dinner reservations and anything else you need. If you choose an ocean view suite with a whirlpool tub, keep the water warm, not hot. Watch our Le Blanc Cancun video tour to see the suites.

3. Secrets Maroma Beach: Best Beach and the Most to Do
Secrets Maroma Beach sits on the same famous Maroma Beach and is a AAA Five Diamond resort. Our team ranked it the best Secrets resort in Mexico.
It is a bigger resort with 12 pools and more dining choices, so it is a great pick if you want more variety. The trade-off is more walking. Ask us for a room near the main pool and restaurants.
Karina’s tip: This resort is big, with 12 pools and lots of ground to cover. Let us request a room close to the main pool and restaurants so the walk to dinner stays easy, especially later in your second trimester. Watch our Secrets Maroma Beach video tour for more information.

4. Secrets Playa Mujeres: Best for Quiet Close to the Airport
Secrets Playa Mujeres is in a gated area north of Cancun's Hotel Zone, with a calm, uncrowded beach and a peaceful adults-only feel. You get Riviera Maya quiet without the longer drive south.
Karina’s tip: The beach here is calm and quiet, perfect for morning floats and walks before the midday heat. It is also one of the shortest transfers from the Cancun airport, and we can arrange a private transfer so you skip the shared shuttle stops on a tired travel day. Watch our Secrets Playa Mujeres video tour for more information.

When to Take a Cancun Babymoon
Aim for your second trimester and the dry season, December through May. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and late summer is also the hottest, most humid stretch on the Caribbean coast. Cancun is about two hours from Houston, with nonstops from most major U.S. cities, which makes it one of the easiest babymoons to reach.
Why Book Your Babymoon With an Advisor?
Your babymoon should be the most relaxing trip you take this year, and that starts with not spending 20 hours researching resorts. When you plan with 2 Getaway Travel, our team:
Matches you with resorts that fit pregnancy needs: walkable layouts, great food, adults-only or quiet areas and strong spas
Times the trip around your due date, airline limits and the weather
Requests special touches like prenatal massages, beach dinners and welcome amenities
Handles changes if your plans shift
Our advisors have stayed at the resorts we recommend, and as a Cancun local, I know these properties from the inside.
